at my gym where I manage to get to at least a few days a month, i have come to notice a strange ritual...... the scrotum / ass blowdrying ritual!!


All the guys do the same thing - after their little shower, they'll come huffing and puffing over to the change room table and blow dry their nuts.

??


Do they suffer from excessive wetness "down there" ? Are they concerned about getting a rash?

What do you think?

i am an advocate of this practice.

i sweat like a mother here in korea. all sorts of 'male itching problems' can be averted with the use of a blowdryer, some talcum powder, etc. regularly.

the towels in my gym are clean but they aren't completely sterilized, so this doesn't stop them from picking up any manner of bacteria... many women i know who work out regularly have picked up nasty yeast infections from gyms, which are exacerbated by the humidity here.

you'll notice that dudes don't rub themselves with the tip of the blowdryer, it's almost always about 6" from the package. grossed out? sure. unsanitary? probably not.

and this is why I saty the hell away from public bathrooms. Not because of strange rituals but because they are crawling with weird ass bacteria. Then ofcourse I live like 2 minutes from the gym.

Yuck.... just as I'm about to eat breakfast, I read this thread....

I was told that women follow this ritual, too. Although body parts differ (hopefully!)

it becuase they have pubes you need weed whacker to get through..
man my mrs goes to the pool sometimes and she said OMG I cant believe woman today aged from 20-to whatever just walking around with a jungle bush! I said to her.. well the men are no different.. they may have no body hair on their chest, arms legs etc.. BUT MAN DO THEY HAVE SOME LONG ASS PUBES ON THE FAMILY JEWELS!!
thats why I think they blow dry them!!

man let them call me monkey becuase I have a hairy chest.. but at least my body is all in check! perfectly shaped and trimmed. these K guys looks like they came straight from the BUSH.. and yes I can well dont want to but imagine that many a foreigner needs some serious trimming done too.. BUT BLOW DRYING UR BALLS??? plleeeaaasseeeee save it for your own home!!!

heck they even do it California fitness in Apkujung where the guys wrap a towel around their waists. Saw a guy today stick a blow dryer up their towel They even use the blow driers on their underarms. I don't get why, the towels are huge and clean, they give you 2 towels, one for your workout and one for the shower.

Gyms in Korea suck, but so do gyms in America. I don't go to 24, Ballys, or any of those. I workout at my school gym. Anyways I signed up for 3 months at CNC in Sihwa. Their sign and doormat reads '24 hour CNC fitness' Since I work late, I needed an extended hours gym.

The next day I'm working out, it's 5 pm. The clerk signals me and says they're closing. I told them I thought they were open 24 hours. Anyways, I don't know what the f**k the sign is about, but since they have the latest hours of the gyms in Sihwa, I'm still a member.

Back to ranting...

The towels and clothes they provide are washed, but are hung dry. They smell like mildew or old sweat. I bring my own now. The isles in the mens locker room is also way too narrow. You basically brush up against some naked guy walking through. I dropped my locker key one time and bent down to pick it up. My face was inches from some bozak.

hahaha..ok...i was trying to resist but can't....so here goes:

I, just recently, joined a gym. I use to work out A LOT when I was back in the states. Since I have been here, i hadn't bothered going to a gym until a good friend of mine recommended one to me; so I went.

I love working out again. It feels great. Anywho....yes..you are right....Korean men remind me of the listerine commercial with the bottle swinging through the jungle (for those that remember the commercial). Man were they surprised when daddy came bustin in there.

See...I keep my stuff in check. So when they saw me, the eyes stuck to me like white on rice. Oh well....maybe they will learn a thing or two. Right now, I feel bad for the dude that asks me, "why do you shave/trim/whatever". Wait till he get's my response..... hahahha
