|
|
Has anyone heard about this?
I was browsing through a Korean newspaper with a Korean friend last week. We saw a box, kind of a paid advertisement by a Korean ramen manufacturer. The ad was in response to the ban of the brand of ramen in GB because of charges that high levels of radiation were used in the processing of the noodles. The company was denying the charges and attacking the decision.
I would love to know more about this. From my knowledge of food safety standards over the years here I'd say the charges could very possibly be true. |

I read something about it on the Marmot's blog I think. From what I understand, the radiation prolongs shelf life ( the fact that it will make you glow if you eat enough of it over time is a fringe benefit) |

I didn't even know they sold ramyeon in the UK. On the very rare occasions that anyone I know is desperate enough to want to eat that stuff, they tend to go for the far better known Pot Noodle instead. Which, in all fairness to Nong Shim, are even more vile. |

Can't remember the exact name/brand, but Australian instant noodles Thai Chicken flavour are the best ramyen I've ever had. I used to send them around the globe to friends and family. Funnily enough when someone here in Korea reciprocated, Aussie customs confiscated them. Something to do with the wheat used and possible disease being introduced to Australian fields. |
