|
|
She's in my hands for the weekend (Sat lunchtime to Sunday evening) before having her meetings and flying back to CA. She'll be pretty jetlagged, but I'd like to show off some of DYNAMIC Korea to her. Am thinking of COEX, Namdaemun and Myongdong, and Apgujong / Gangnam in the evening, but if anyone else has done something like this before and has good ideas, I'm very interested in hearing them..
N.b. anything that would be *beep*ed out by the sweary filter is not an option |

LOL COEX I dont know if I would call a mall dynamic
Min Sok Chon for a 10-2 trip(the samgatang in the restraurant at the back is top notch)
Its a good way to show them something of Korea, an afternoon shopping in Insadong or Namdemeun(depends on their interest)
Gangnam in the evening sounds like a good choice. |

What about taking the KTX down to Taejon for a chance for her to see a bit of the country-side. Go to Kyeyoungsan (spelling?) temple--beautiful, close to the city, easy to get to. (Even easier if you go to Seodaejon.) |

Grotto - her hotel is just by COEX, and it seems a nice safe introduction Min Sok Chon is an idea - I had the Jjige there and it was really good as well. It's also easy for me
Ya-ta - I've never been to Taejon so that does sound interesting. I do wonder if she'd stay awake on a train though I'll float the idea with her.
Cheers... |

How about dinner at Sanchon in Insa-dong Saturday? In the evenings they have an impressive traditional Korean dance and "drum" show. Their website is www.sanchon.com There are also many artsy galleries, tea shops and street performers, etc. in that area... |

Things being as they are, you might consider holding her prisoner for a month or so. She'll enjoy it. You can watch television together. Groove out on Robo Cop, and Die Hard 2 again and again and again and again and again and again.
Then take her to Itaiwan. |
