Yesterday my girlfriend told me that when she was in high school (about 7 years ago), 20% of the students were actually living in the school. They did this because with all of the studying they could get more sleep that way--if their home was too far it just made sense.
Have you heard of, or seen, anything similar? |

Yep, I work at one of those dorm schools. It's a public school so I find it strange that they have a dormitory, but my students come from all over Korea. Only about 30% of the 180 students that attend the school live there though. I also live there. So do two of the other teachers. It's not as terrible as you'd imagine. I don't have to share a bedroom or bathroom with anyone or anything like that.
The rules are so incredibly strict for the students though. They have to sign in and out if they want to go anywhere and several of them have gotten kicked out just for having been seen by the principal with their girlfriend or boyfriend.
Fun. |
