For me, a knot in the calf, especially while sleeping, is the worst! Leaves me wimpering long after it is gone. There is no relief which comes with the reduction in pain, no adrenaline rush, just the vivid memory of a knife that could return at any moment, when least expected, in the early hours of the morning.
I just got a knot Am fearful of bedtime tonight.
At least with a headache I can take medicine and be dopey relaxed.
Stretching with a calf knot can contribute to them, just as exercise OR the lack thereof can bring it on. It is hell's fury. |

I'm yet to experience a more sickening pain than a football (soccer ball to you North Americans) hit at full blast and connecting perfectly with ones private parts. I hope I'll never experience it again! |

Getting hit in the pills hurts immensely, no question.
But, I voted headache. A few months ago I had a headache that was absolute misery for about four hours. Horrible!!! |

Is a knot, cramp?
If so, I got that when I was pregnant with Letty. They say it's because you lack potassium.. so eat some bananas. |

I've experianced the hockey puck in the #$%^. We were playing some pickup hockey and I'm not sure where my protection was at the time, but a little deflection, the next thing you know ...sting... |

Still - not enough potassium. |

Don't be dense.
We are talking about CALVES. If you are talking about lower leg pain then we are talking about the same thing. Otherwise go eat those bananas. |

Yes Calves, VI! I do remember the pain I had waking up from. I had those when I was asleep, not when I was awake and standing up.
OK, let me describe the pain I had to you:
I would wake up and find my calve muscles all, completely, 100% rock solid and in excruciating pain. Does that sound like Charley Horse to you? If I can still comprehend, I think it's what the website describes! |

Sometimes when I'm sleeping I dream that I am running or something, and my leg muscles twitch. Sometimes it results in intense pain in my legs. That really hurts, probably worse than getting sacked, but I know it's only temporary so I'm not worried that bad. |

Yeah...sometimes I feel like I'm falling, say, out of the bed. Results in twitching - very odd! |

OK, I think i had one of those leg pains you are all describing. happened earlier this year - can cold weather contribute? i'll also guess i moved my leg in my sleep.
pretty horrid experience! not the best way to wake up.
but i voted stomachache.
had a bad reaction to some pills i was taking for dry skin. felt like (and according to my gf, sounded like) water was boiling in my gut. laying down, standing up, nothing relieved it. just had to weather it out for 30min-an hour each time (took me a couple days to identify the meds as the cause) |
