To be sure, Korea has made some damn fine cinema these past couple of years (and even before then). I hope the quality continues. I haven't heard recently of any great Korean films, but I'm looking forward to 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance' by Park Chan-Wook (JSA, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, and the sublime Oldboy). It probably won't match Oldboy; I'm only hoping he doesn't take a nosedive into redundancy, as the film's title suggests.
Pretty sweet that those of us in Korea will be able to purchase the DVD, with English subs, a few months after the film's cinematic release.
