I've been looking around Seoul for an art supplies store, but so far with no luck. I've heard that traditional Korean brushes and paper can be found in Insadong, but all I really want is acrylic paint, regular brushes, and canvases. So far I've checked through COEX, and a few of the larger department stores, but with no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Hongik University (subway line 2) has a lot of art students so there are shops around there. I know there are several on the road between the Uni gates going towards Sinchon.

From the subway take exit 6- walk past Pascucci, then turn left at VIPs restaurant / Pizza Hut. Go up to the top of that street, there's a McDonalds on your right hand side- keep going across the road and you'll see the gates in front of you- go either left or right on that street and you should get what you need

Yongpoong bookstore at Chonggak stn has a good section of basic art supplies.

It's also the only place in town I've ever found fabric dye.

Had to dye the bathmat - It's hard to find them in colours other than beige, but damn, they get ugly fast. Dyed them a nice forest green... now they hide the dirt mugh better. Threw a few towels in, too. Coordination!
