I throw them in the garbage.

I toss them into the fountain at the airport- some charity cleans those and keeps the money. If you go to the one next to the McDonalds, you can go all the way up to the 3rd floor and toss your coin there with a nice clear shot. I mean what else would you do with them?

I save them for when I go broke.

I just completed filling a plastic pig with all my daily coins.

Counted it last week.

436,200 won.

200,000 of that was 100 won coins.

It adds up quick. That was about 9 months worth of coins. Doesn't take long to count and lets you buy something for yourself, or,

I throw all my coins into an empty salsa container and when it gets full I cash them in.

I spend them in the shops.

I save them. Throw them in a pocket in my backpack. Sometimes they're handy when I buy a coffee at starbucks. Two 1,000 won notes and 7 100 won coins. Handy when you buy a newspaper, too. The coffee machine at work takes 200 won. It's good for that too.

In general, I save them for the subway. At the end of the month if I'm coming close to my budgeted spending limit, instead of buying a 10,000 ticket or t-money card, I'll clear through my coin in the ticket machines. I can feed 800 or 1000 won into the machines without fear some civil servant who wants to get back to his day dreams about smoking and spitting in public will roll his eyes as I place a small mound of change before him.

Sometimes if I'm teaching "lend or borrow" I'll haul some in. You give each kid 200 won (200 buys a hot chocolate in the machine so the amount has some tangible value to the kids). They have to use the correct term to get the 200 won from their seat mate.

"Mark, use 'lend' to get the 200 won from Tom."

"Please lend me 200 won."

"Correct. Mark give Tom your 200 won."

'Now Tom please use 'borrow' to get your 200 won back."

"Please borrow me..."

"WRONG!"

Mark gets to pocket 400 won.

Doesn't your bank have a handy machine you just throw it in and they roll it count it and give you bills for it????

Otherwise use them in an arcade

I spend them as they fill my pocket. It might make a nice surprise to find that you've got 400,00 that you weren't counting before but I do believe you have the same amount of money in the end anyway.

Who rolls the coins for you when you go to the bank?

I also think that I would feel like I should go out and treat myself after the "windfall" so I wouldn't really have saved anyway.

Hmm.so, like, I'd take them up to the bank teller, and they'd roll them for me?
