My keyboard has Korean characters on the keys but I lack the software needed to type with them. Does anyone know where I can download something to solve my problem?

If it is windows XP then you'll already have global IME built in if you have a previous version then just go to microsoft.com and do a search for Global IME' You'll find it easily enough.

If you're using linux or something I can't help.

Just go to control panel select languages. You might need your XP disk.
