As many know the public school holiday is only 2 weeks long per vacation. This summer the English camp will last 3 weeks which leaves a week spare doing nothing. The school have decided that I must still come into school during this week irrespective of the fact that there are no classes at all. I am shocked at this mean spiritedness. I am no Nostradamus but I can see me being sick during that week. Laughing

ooooh....a week of sitting on your ass. Poor fucker. Read some books, do some writing, pick up a book on teaching methods and upgrade your skills, bring a hacky sack and kick it around. I get two weeks too and my camp is 4 weeks long, which is more than most foreign teachers get all year. Public School camps are easy anyways.

It occurs to me that you have located a good negotiating point when it comes time to renew contracts. The chances of more money being offered for a second year are close to nil, but there is that free week during each break--a benefit that would cost the school nothing.

PS: Mr./Ms I_AM_Wrong: the name in your profile should read Henry Brooks Adams. Brooks was his middle name. The guy is a grandson and great-grandson of presidents.

Your child like insults are rebounding off me faster than you are pulling the trigger.

Can all be done in the comfort of my own home without having to take a 30 minute bus to work every day during that week. What is the point of going to work when there is no work to be done? Koreans often put presentation above substance, which is why we end up with absurd situations like this.

Your attempt to draw analogies between parrots and zebras is a source of amusement.

it was well-known
when they went home at night
their fat and psychopathic wives
would thrash them
within inches of their lives!

I'm not even in the GEPIK or EPIK program, yet my high school says they must adhere to the 2 week rule as they will get in trouble with the education office if they don't. My 2 weeks is for the whole year, that is it! I did have 2 weeks last year both in the summer and winter but that had to be changed due to their not wanting to piss the education board off. So I get a whole week off this summer (whoo hoo for me) and the other week in the winter. Anyway I do see your point about having to come in just to fill time, that does suck.

I have moved to Gyongi-do, but have kept my original username to avoid confusion. I am not in the GEPIK/EPIK program either.
