Anyone study through them?

I heard it was like taking Korean at a hogwan.. same context? True?

I can't seem to find the webpage on them though to find the prices, conditions, etc.. anyone know it?

December and January I studied there. First month the teacher was useless, the second month the teacher was pretty good. But I would only recommend YBM as a place of last resort. If you have the time and money study elsewhere preferably Sogang or Ewha.

I had a pretty decent experience at YBM, it all seems to depend on what teacher you get, of course.

You'd probably be better off with evening classes at Ewha or Yonsei, if you only have time to study part time.

I took a month of lessons and the teacher wasn't great. Plus, I was doing it once a week three hours a day.. kind of hard to digest it all i found..

I think it may depend on the level also. I did 2 months in level 2 at YBM last year. The classes were quite well paced and we had plenty of opportunities during class time to use the language communicatively. Last month I studied at level 3 and it was a nightmare. The classes were grammar intensive with few opportunities to speak. A huge waste of money.

You may find this thread about YBM's Korean classes from about a year ago helpful: http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=17837&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=YBM+korean+class&start=15

True to Dave's Cafe style, it's a bit negative, but I don't think this is 100% fair.

I had a pretty good experience with them, and it may be because I had a good teacher (50-something woman).

What I liked best was that the teacher tried to have a lot of different things going on during each 2 hour class, which not only kept it interesting, but let you work on different areas. A little grammar, some free talking, some exercises involving TV, some games. It was never boring.

What I also found was that if you want to discuss something the teacher was always OK with adding a little free talking to the lesson as long as the other students were cool with it.
