I recently upgraded my ram on Samsung notebook, sensx15, to 1 gig. The notebook came with a 256 DDR, and I wanted more ram, so I purchased two 516 DDR PC2700 ram sticks. My notebook seems to be working fine, except that it seems to heat up pretty quickly compared to when I only had 256 ram. Does anyone know why this is happening? Also, my notebook came with Korean windows XP, which I changed to English windows XP. |

More RAM will mean more current draw for your PSU, but really there shouldn't be much difference at all. The version of Windows is of no consequence.
Are you having heat issues, or just wondering? |

I am not having any major heat issues considering that I had left my computer on for around 6 hrs and it didn't shut down due to heat. However, it gets kind of annoying to type on my notebook because the place where my hands rest while typing gets pretty damn hot.
I had also thought that having more rams shouldn't make my notebook to heat up substantially, so I am really puzzled as to why this is happening. I might just switch out one of the 516 rams with a 256. Having that combo didn't cause my notebook to heat up. |
