| I'm going to Yongsan tomorrow to buy new RAM and I figure the best way to get the correct type is to bring in the old one so they can see exactly what it is. My question is how should I carry it around so that I don't damage it or short it out with static electricity. |

I wrap it in old anti-static bags I have from various pieces of harware...I hang onto that stuff. Then it goes in a sturdy book or something (which I read on the train) to keep it from bending.
So, no bending and no static. No probs!
They wrap it in tinfoil at Yongsan, and while it still unnerves me, there hass never been an issue...even after a long day carting it around and a 2 hour train ride home.
Its breakable, but tougher than you (I?) think. |

Foil is fine. Never had any problems with ram bought in foil. Be careful when you put it into your computer this is the only time I've seen anyone break anything. Sometimes you have to push pretty hard to get that pesky ram in to the motherboard and I saw a dude screw up his MB once, it got a really nasty crack and didn't work at all after that |
