I thought I'd be baking and melting etc by now. I'm not. There is some extra sweat during the height of the day but the nights are cool. I work outside often and I've noticed its much much hotter when there are no clouds. Other than that, its not much. |

The hot part of summer has yet to come, right after the rainy season is finished, next week probably. The last couple of years has seen hotter Septembers than Julys it seems to me, but I haven't stats handy (real reality?).
The rains have definitely been less than two years ago, much less during the day anyhow. It seems like it has been pouring more at night this year, which is fine with me.
Looking forward to the hottest month of August. Ten days on mountains where the air is cooler and beaches where the ocean is nice and warm yet refreshing, here along the southern coast. |

It was brutally hot for me a couple of weeks back. This lull in the heat has been nice. It seems to have been getting hotter in the past few days though.
I liked having the temperature in my apartment below 30. Darn this heat bucket of a city. |

It's a LOT cooler and a LOT less rainy this year. Two summers ago it rained almost every day during the "rainy season" and last summer was pretty darned hot. I ALMOST considered getting an air conditioner!
Right now it's 27 in my apartment...I'm just hoping it doesn't go MUCH higher. Last year, 33 was the norm with 90+% humidity! (Those freakin' towels NEVER dried!) |

Down in the south it is hot today....
I think the monsoon is almost over...no rain in sight for the south of the country all week...
Here comes the 2 months of summer we love or hate...
I would rather this than the winter |

Yeah, Korean summers are not hot. In California, temperatures have reached 38 C (with tons of humidity) already....and it's not even August yet...that's when the real torture begins! |

Not so much as July. August tends to be sunnier. Hot, but less humid.
Today is hot as hell in Gangnam. Feels like 32-33 out there. |

Yeah. I remember getting seriously seriously soaked last summer. The rain hasn't been bad at all. The papers were saying how this was going to be some record hot summer but it's been quite tolerable. |

The last couple of summers have followed this pattern:
Korea's three distinct subseasons of summer:
1. The Monsoon season
Rainy and humid (mid-June to mid-July)
2. Typical summer
HOT and humid (late-July to mid-August)
3. The Typhoon season
Stormy (late-August to mid-September) |

Ohhhh, I would so rather the winter. But, of course, it could be spring and autumn forever! Autumn is the best season here. I can't wait! |

No. She bought fans. And I taught drowsy classes for about two or three weeks -- me and the students.
I'm beginning to feel like I got suckered into the worst kiddie hogwon in Korea. |

The worst? There's a lot of competition for that place. |
