If you have HL2 you'll be able to get a single player level off of Steam soon.

And HL2:Aftermath is scheduled for a 'Summer2005' release (but let's be honest- it'll be the Fall).

Am I the only one excited about this?
Or are you guys all too wrapped up in emulators, C&C and Diablo II to notice the new stuff? Razz

This is Valve we are talking about here.....the new level? Next year, September. HL2: Aftermath? 2007, summer.

I'm excited to be sure, but I have been down that road with this company many times for long times. I will get excited when I'm playing.

Well, they don't have a 'stolen code' excuse this time and they don't have to deal with Vivendi to get boxes on shelves- basically they've got no one to blame if it doesn't get out in a timely manner, and not doing so would be a black mark against their online direct to consumer business model...
but you're right- 'a game that doesn't blow its timeline is a game that turns out be a half-finished buggy piece of crap' is the contemporary game developer's axiom.

And I'm still bitter at MS over HALO...

Too right, mate...too right. The only upside to the whole fiasco was how good the game turned out to be. Better than I thought, honestly.

MS and Halo? You know, I never bought that game....I heardhow rotten it ran and how mediocre it looked....gameplay was top shelf, but everyone just seemed kind of blah past that.

Did it run like Deus Ex 2? Laggy, jerky, s-s-s-stut-t-tter......I was way beyond the specs too with that one.
