Isn't it funny how when someone posts a thread entitled, "The Jewish Mind", you click on it immediately and wonder just how racist and anti-semitic someone could be to suggest that all Jewish people think the same...or that there is something somehow categorically "different" about all Jewish ideas, thought, or people...

...yet when someone posts a thread called, "The Muslim Mind", it's no biggie to stereotype all 800 million or so Muslims in the world as thinking the same...

Aw, I am just so knee jerk, I would respond equally quickly to either. Embarassed And don't think some here wouldn't join in with some racist anti-Jewish stuff as quickly as the anti-Muslim stuff.

What????

The thread I started was an article BY A MUSLIM titled The Muslim Mind is on Fire. I chose to drop the opinion aspect of the title (is on fire) and leave the noun.

And your post???? Trying to make some pathetic pc point on what????

In the last few years, Muslim fanatics have blown up or murdered innocents in the Phillipines, Thailand, Indonesia, attempted to in Singapore, Pakistan, India, the United States, England, Spain, Turkey, Israel, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt, Russia, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Sudan, Kenya......and I'm sure I'm missing a few.

If you are trying to make some moral equivalence while playing patty-cake with your collegiate-level political correctness by equating your smarmy little thread with a well-thought out opinion piece by a Muslim triubled by the state of his religious brethren......

well congratulations.

You've "succeeded".

and one more thing.....

If Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, or Christians were blowing up thousands of humans on four continents and one of their own wrote a piece on the Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish or Christian Mind,

I'd pay close attention to it instead of wrapping my head in a PC fog.

I read your thread and enjoyed it. This thread has to be one of the worst I have seen in quite some time around here. The OP was trying to make some point, but I sure as hell didn't catch onto it.

Who are you trying to kid?

You didn't quote the entire title correctly, or title the thread as, 'The Muslim Mind is on Fire: Article', because you wanted to substitute the author's opinion, implied in the title, with your own. You think that all Muslims are fundamentalist terrorists.

Which is why you chose to start the thread in the first place.

Right?

Not even the original author of the article thinks all Muslims think the same, otherwise HE would have titled his own article, "The Muslim Mind".

They all read the Koran and its pages of hate. Do you need links to nasty Koran quotes?

[quote="Manner of Speaking"] You think that all Muslims are fundamentalist terrorists.

Nobody thinks that.
But fundamentalist terrorism is gaining rapidly in its influence and successes. It already garners widespread moral support in the muslim world, and will only get more as it gathers momentum and starts to make even more headway.

It is in line with Koranic teachings...so why wouldn't muslims support it?

So you discount the evidence that the moderates are gaining rapidly in influence?

Oh my....you are so wrong. Must be the PC fog you seem to live in.

First of all, I posted that article because I was glad to read an Arab Muslim being so forthright in saying that Muslim fanatics are the problem, not the West, not Bush not Israel blah blah blah that Idiotarians parrot all the time.

And you have an amazing ability to divine the intricacies of how one chooses to post threads and their titles. Maybe I was just lazy and chose the 1st three words of an article. Sue me dude.

"Ah...the ins and outs of omitting the fact that it was an article...Egads!!! This must be proof of a sinister anti-Muslim PC-heretic trying to ruin the harmonious multi-cultural bubble I insist on living in." in a manner of speaking.

Sundubum's post was clearly an article and a moderately interesting one at that. I'm not sure what this little experiment of a thread is supposed to prove. Perhaps Manner of Speaking should develop a manner of reading.
