Well it seems that a few days ago some tough guys got the bright idea to take on a few ROK soldiers and take their guns (and ammo). Now, maybe they were big ol' gangsters, or even some K1 champions, but am I the only one worried about how easy it seemed that they walked away with some nice new rifles?

I'm not sure how mnay people know about it, or if it even affects many people on this board, but i've noticed NUMEROUS road-blocks in my area (that are not usually there) and the military seem to be inspecting cars.

It seems though that they have caught them now but it doesn't make any mention if the weapons were found.[/url]

I'll say what I'm sure many Koreans (and every military officer) is thinking: What if those gangsters had been NK commandos? Doesn't bode well for SK readiness....

one problem right away was that their weapons were not loaded. Rule #1 if you're patrolling a border you usually might want to carry some ammo..

The guards you see outside Korean military bases have two (2) bullets. The ROK military seems to be the Barney Fife of national military organizations.

Yeah, they're all over our area, too, the past day or two. Particularly as you get closer to the Blue House. Always has been a big police presence around here anyway, along with a few military types in official attire (directing traffic Cool ). But now they're in combat garb and helmets, with fingers on the triggers, and they really scrutinise you now instead of just waving you through. I think I'm going to stop wearing the turban and dark sunglasses for a while.

This took place up near the DMZ right? Now why were they checking the Hannam bridge north bound, but not south bound the other night?

Think they will return to the scene of the crime?

haha, actually they were checking Jamsil bridge north bound too... odd.

Did you guys notice though that most of the roadblock soldiers did not have clips in their guns?

Checking northbound routes makes perfect sense, though. We must keep civilised Northern Seoul safe from armed desperados, Gangnamites, sodomites, catamites, and most of all, from hippy chicks. I heartily applaud these efforts. *clap, clap, clap, clap*

Rueters

LIVE FROM THE DMZ

In an overwhelming mass attack the Norks have swarmed the DMZ and are heading south. The stinky poo poo has really his the fan for the luckless ROK troops. They are currently reporting back up the chain of command to request permission to unlock the ammo from a sealed storage room. Meanwhile the Norks are busily flooding south ravaging every McDonald's and Ghalbi stand between the DMZ and the Han river. Luckily the ROK troopies have one thing going for them the general officer in charge of the ammo facility is on vacation and will not be back till next week so they can wait till monday before going to war.

United Nations assistance is unlikely to be forth coming for sometime due to recent deployments to France. At the request of the European Union who have grown weary of the French boastings over their Euro Disney facility, the United Nations is currently in the process of hunting down Euro Mickey Mouse as a War Criminal.

In other local news Taco Bell announced its South Korean 1/2 off sale for all half starving North Korean Troops. If money not availible no problem say Taco Bell officials, AK-47s will do nicely.
