I think its the first day of the two day visa runs, anyone else going, 10am flight from Incheon?
Also how much money am I gonna need to take, my director gave me 100,000 won ! which doesn't seem like much for a 24 hour period in Japan, plus visa expenses and transportation. |

Luckily my employer pays for accom when I go to Osaka, or at least refunds receipts for that and other expenses incurred. Last time I went, I split a hotel room with a workmate and it was about 90 bucks a night. That was sourced using the services of a friend who has lived in the Dotonburi area for the last 16 years. I have heard there is a youth hostel in one of the outlying towns (maybe Kyoto?) but you'll have to pay at least 10 bucks each way on the train to get there. Better ask your Wonjangnim for some more funny money. Oh, and btw, you can eat cheap at those places that have the pre-paid ticket machines for your meals (pork/beef over rice for around 450 yen) and there is a bar that does 500 yen drinks in that general area too. Hope this helps. |

Are doing the run in Osaka? If so, there you can find some PC rooms complete with your own booth, and a shower room in the morning for 2000yen a night. It's not a bed, but you get a reclining chair that is comfortable enought to sleep on. They can be located near the Namba subway station which is near the Korean consulate anyway. |

The visa alone is over 50,000 won. Also keep in mind that the shuttle train from the airport is around 15,000 won each way, although you may find with a 2-day run that you could manage a slower and cheaper train. I just find the Rapid-Beta stuff easier to figure out, considering I only know enough Japanese to get into a fight.
Eating won't be a problem if it's survival eating, but the hotel will put a further huge dent in your pocket. 100,000 won might've been enough for a 1-day run if you kept quiet with your thumb up your rear while waiting for the visa, but an overnight is going to cost you more. |
