should I upgrade to norton 2005? I"ve been using norton 2004 and have been happy with it except that it slows down my system. I've been experimenting with avast on the computer at work. I don't like the interface very much and even on the standard search it seems like it takes a long time.
I used avg but I didn't like it so much. it wouldn't delete the files, just quarentine them. also the one time i quarentined some files several programs stopped working so I had to reinstall them.
I don't mind paying if the product is good. |

Well I was using NSW 05 up utill last week. It was ok in terms of scanning but bloated and ram intensive compared to Avast pro which I'm using now.
Avast found 1 trojan and some adware when i ran its first re-boot scan. I was suprised as I tend to scan regularly and use other anti adware stuff. Obviously Norton didnt pick it up. And dam, when you uninstall Norton you find how invasive that app is.
For me Avast is great in speed and low mem. usage.
Norton Ghost 9 Rocks by the way (for data/partition back up). It is part of NSW 05. |
