There was some girl in Seoul whom people know of that does really good art. I think the cops shut her down a while ago, since tattooing is illegal here, unless it is being done by a doctor. Most of the work done I've seen here on Korens were prison house tats. Personally, I wouldn't get tattooed here. Hepatitis and all. There are places in Japan, but it will cost you. I went down to Thailand and got some good work done though. If you go to Thailand, I can recommend a clean place. |

I saw a Tat place in Busan on one of the back roads leading to PNU.
What about piercings? Anyone have experience doing that here? |

I paid for good work in America, and it didnt come cheap. However, in Japan, like any other goods and services there, it's like three times the cost. At least thats what my artist in America told me. I checked out a few places in Thailand, and found one to be the cleanest with the best portfolio and very good prices. I do agree about the crappy tattoo work done in Korea. |

Japan. It is expensive but worth it.
I spent $2000 American on a leg sleeve (11 hours of work) there in March. Like I said, expensive but worth it. Save up for a little bit, make an appointment and get some great work. If you'd like pictures or a hookup with an excellent English speaking artist in Osaka, PM me. |

I used to live in Songtan. There's a place just outside the gate of the airbase, near the subway sandwich. It's where the guys from the base go for tattoos.
I went there but the guy seems to keep funny hours, it was 2 in the afternoon & I was told he was sleeping.
So maybe try on a Saturday morning or try & find a way to contact him & make an appointment. |

Does it seem like a lot of Koreans are sporting fake tattoos - the kind little children in the west wear - these days? |

In Chongqing, China, you can get an exquisitely detailed dragon that covers your shoulder, chest, whole side of your back, all the way down to your butt, for US$1,000. Really good work, if you have a spare week to do it. I understand the same work stateside costs three-times that with Japanese jobs being even more expensive. |

I got a very good tattoo done in Hongdae. Several of my friends have gotten tattoos by the same guy, too - he does do good work. Prices are reasonable, too. Can't tell you the exact place because I don't want the tattooist getting arrrested! If you e-mail me at [email protected], I'll give you the info. |
