|
|
For reasons that center around my work loving me. I need to extend my visa for my flight. I told my boss that I will have to go to immigration to extend my visa (requiring me to possibly miss some class time). She says that you can extend it without the trip to the immigration office. Everything I have come across seems to say that you have to go to the office to get it done.
Does anyone know/ done it in a method not involving visiting the happy wonder land that is the immigration office?
And on a happy noted503 will be leaving this land in less then a month hip hip |

I've never heard of it being done without going to immigration. Maybe she knows something I don't...No surprise there. If I were you, I'd tell her that if she knows how to do it, then let her do it herself. If not, skip class and take care of it yourself. |

Yeah a trip to immigration is needed. Either you go or someone from your school. I know, never fun. |

Rule number one. You boss doesnt know crap about immigration laws and how they apply to foreigners.
Rule number two. Anything that requires that you miss a class will be deemed not necessary. |

Yes, you need to go there.
They must stamp your passport. |

Why oh why would you or anyone want to screw around with an immigration issue?!?!?!
Gesh! I don't get it!
You are messing with the WRONG folks if you do it incorrectly...meaning you don't want to mess with immigration.
Sure...it's time consuming...going to the immigration office...but at least you'll get the CORRECT information on something like your question!
The stamp in your passport is the ONLY proof you have of being legal!
Get your passport stamped. |

You have to have sympathy for the OP on this case, because, as we know, directors often don't know squat and/or lie to teachers about what they need to do. |

Oh...how I agree 110% with you...still...immigration issues...I always go to the immigration office no matter what country I am in! I would not be asking anyone for advice...I'm a guest in a foreign country...you bet I'll check with immigration first and get my passport stamped! |

All they did with me was stamp my ARC. My passport date remained unchanged.
I was so perturbed by this I actually called my embassy to verify this procedure, and they did.
Rule no1. Your director knows nothing about immigration rules.
Rule no2. Ask your own embassy, if they don't know they won't BS you, they'll check. |
