Hello,

My name is Daniel Gray and I'm a gyopo from America and I am trying to get an F4 visa. I am currently in Gyeong Ju and I need to find someone who can speak and write fluent Korean so I can go to the immigration office in Daegu and fill out my forms for the F4 visa.

I want to make sure that it goes correctly, because I am deathly afraid of being mistaked for a Korean citizen and sent to the Korean military.

I would be willing to pay well for you services - a fee for your help and translation, transportation costs, lunch - all the Korean amenities. Thank you !

Dan

I'd go ask the lawyer on englishspectrum. If you're getting an F4 doesn't this mean you are a duel citizen? Are you under 35? Does getting beaten and humiliated by 19-year-old corporals appeal to you? I'd be looking for a bi-lingual lawyer, not English teacher, if I were you.

just go in and ask. the form is simple to fill out (its in english). the problems arise if you still have a korean citizenship. go get a hojuk and find out, then ask the immigration officer about EVERYTHING you will need for the visa to get processed.

Based on your name, I am going to assume that you are an adoptee, unless you used a fictious name. If my assumption is correct, you do not have to worry about being drafted into the Korean army. Adoptees lose Korean citizenship immediately upon being adopted. Once you lose your Korean citizenship, you are no longer obligated to serve in the Korean Army for obvious reasons.

Also, when you get your family registry, it will state whether or not you have lost your Korean citizenship. Which is why it's ridiculous for the immigration officers to demand that you get a lost nationality certificate for the adoptees, unless it's being used as another form of taxation.

As for the forms, they are pretty simple. If you don't fill them out correctly, the immigration officer will tell you what parts to fill out.
