This is sort of a knock off of Chia's 'Summer Reading ' thread and a plug for a new book that would be of possible interest to readers of the Tech Forum- summer is only half over so if you're looking for a good book to read in the park or on the plane Thailand, etc. you could do a lot worse than Hari Kunzru's Transmission;
Bollywood, A/V geekdom, Indian IT outsourcing, viruses, and mmorpg gamers all make appearances in this novel which reads like Neal Stephenson channeling Douglas Adams, with an interesting Lineage-esque Korean connection in the epilogue. If you can tear yourself away from Battlefield 2 and World of Warcraft (I'm behind the curve, in my case it's SC: Chaos Theory with authentic NK accents!) this book is worth your time.
