Where can I buy flavoured protein powder in Seoul? I've just recently joined a gym near work and I'd like to have a protein drink after my work-out. Also, how much does the stuff cost over here?

It depends if you want a high or low quality protein. If you don't care about the quality, you can get some cheap stuff for about 35,000 won at Costco. Another way would be finding someone who has access to the PX on a military base, they have tons of it there and could save you a lot of money. If you're in Seoul, you can try going to one of the black market places in Namdaemun. I bought a 5lb container of 100% Whey Protein for 60,000won (sadly, you can buy it online for under $30US, but the shipping would eat up any savings).

only think is you got to pay a bit for shipping.. but hey!
a WHEY from a korean interent site was like 120.000 WON
I got all my supps with a 10KILO bag of WHEY all for 200.000 shipped!

itaewonguy: I had heard that shipping anything over $150 would lead to customs charges. Was that true with your shipment from Bodybuilding.com? I will be ordering from them next week? tia

Go to Gmarket.co.kr. You can buy it in bulk there. Prices are roughly 10000won per Kg of protein.

There was a story on Korean news that some of the supplements sold there are knockoffs.

Exactly Hollywood, it is hard to verify that the the quality of the protein or supplements is good - even at places like Costco. That is why I will be buying known brands from bodybuilding.com, like itaewonguy. Even with shipping it is a good deal.

Anyone know where I can buy protein bars from?

I just ordered some protein powder and creatine from Bodybuilding.com ( I took Itaewonguy's advice) but forgot about ordering protein bars. Anyway, if there's somewhere in Seoul I can get them from please let me know. Thanks.

Hey, are you an idiot? You must buy "protein"...........you think this will make you get big? You must have been the guy in the pep band in high schoo. Let me give you some advice.............in order to get big you must eat big. I am huge, guys in the gym ask me for advice. My advice is........eat from the natural source. EGG WHITES, NUTS, VEGGIES, SALADS, TUNA, BANNANAS, ETC..... this is the way to get big. Actually, during my football days, we would get drunk and then head to the gym. The alcohol from the beer deadened the pain, the barley packed on the muscle. so long........................geek.

I think they were speaking of your beer gut. They've never seen one that big.
