Hi. I'm looking for an iriver H340 model. I think they are discontinued but can be found on ebay and in Yongsan, and i have seen "U.S. versions" and "Korean/Asian versions" etc. of the MP3 player itself.
are there any differences between versions?
I thought i read something about downloading onto the player itself can be different with certain programs.like FIRMWARE or whateveer. not sure though.
Does anyone know the differences? I assume it would apply to the other iriver lines of product as well.
I was thinking on picking one up in Yongsan. But it would be a Korean version NOT U.S., so I wanted to know which is better?? I thought I heard that you can play movies on the Korean version. Can you on the U.S version??
Of course, having a Korean version is better in Korea, but just wondering if i can use it in the same way back in Canada ?
Any info would be great! |

| From what I know the US version does not have USB on the go which is something that allows you to connect your digital camera (well not all cameras, there is a compatibility list somewhere) to your MP3 player and transfer the photos without a computer. Also, the US version does not play videos out of the box. This can be quickly corrected by flashing it with the newest Korean firmware, you can still have English as the menu language so don't worry about that. There also may be a different set of accessories that come with the player. I have the US version of the H320 (same model as you are eyeing minus 20GB storage), and it didn't include an external microphone. Not sure how much they cost in Yongsan these days, but I found the cheapest option was to purchase a factory refurbished one on Ebay and have it the seller ship it to Korea (not all sellers do this, but you can ask them). The shipping for me was around $50USD and the player was $225USD. The actual shipping was only around $24 including insurance, so you may have some bargaining room with how much the seller charges for that. Good luck, seems to be a great player for the things I use it for. You might want to check out the Cowon IAudio X5, I think they only make a 20GB or 30GB version. You can also buy one with an extended battery which gives a ridiculous amount of playback time. |
