You'll need to buy a step down transformer (about $50), you can't just use an adapter that allows the Korean plug to fit into a 110 v outlet

It'd actually be a step-up transformer (most likely a step-up/step down combination), but anyway:
Not as easy nor as cheap to find as a step-down in Korea, so unless you're totally blown away by the quality of your appliances you are better off selling them and buying NA versions on your return. And for an appliance like a rice cooker or a powerful stereo you'd have to have a larger (i.e. heavier, more expensive) step-up transformer than one for a laptop (for example). And unless you're going to put your cooker in your living room, or your stereo in your kitchen, or have extension cords snaking all over the place, you're looking at buying two.

Even if you didn't have to worry about voltage, are these things worth their weight- literally- to send/bring home?
If you're like most people you have a limited amout of space & weight, and both those things are somewhat bulky and heavy....

I don't think it'd be a problem buying asian (korean) style rice cookers in any halfway decent sized city in North America.

P.S. That avatar is hilarious, poker player.

Look on the bottom or back....if it says 110~240v. then you are ok. If not, you need a transformer of the previously mentioned kind.

Does the search function not work? That, or look about 3 or so pages back...this question is probably asked at least once per page.

dump the rice cooker - not worth the shipping n cost of a transformer - step-down transformers are $$$ in Canada.

check the stereo - SOME have a switch to switch to 220v or 110v
else get a step-down transformer - get one with a higher WATTS rating than your stereo (or whatever)
else get a electronics knowledgeable friend to change the transformer in the stereo
or sell it here!
