Hello,
I applied to Longbridge Pacific and they emailed me back describing the following teaching position:
Each school is in a large independent
building designed a bit like an "English Village". Inside the building,
there is a money exchange bank, a stage with a movie theater, many
restaurants and all kinds of other little shops. All this has been designed
to give the students some real-life experience in an English environment.
The Korean teacher first explain some basic vocabulary and useful sentences
to the students and send them on a mission. The foreign teacher (you) is in
charge at different shops and interacts with the students, giving them a
real-life situation experience. There isn't much formal classroom teaching
at that school as everything is done in a fun and interactive environment.
The students age groups are kindergarten, elementary and a few middle school
students and teaching is only Monday thru Friday. Of course all teachers
will have free single housing studios, all furnished and walking distance
from the school (or small apart for couple teachers), paid round-trip
airfare, severance bonus, and all other benefits. Salary will be based on
your qualifications, experience and the interview.
The schools are located in the Bupyong and Yeun
Soo Dong areas in Incheon and one is in Ilsan; all three being wealthy
neighborhoods in the Seoul area.
It sounds like an exciting and unique opportunity on the surface to me. But I would like to know if anyone has had any experiences with these kinds of schools.
Thanks for any responses. |
