I just saw this on Friday night, and snapped a photo, but must not have saved it correctly in my camera. It's located at the very bottom of the hooker hill area -- just across from Geckos in one of those restaurants across from the LG phone store. |

I remember hearing about it recently. I was told it was pretty good.

I am not altogether pleased to hear of this, and yet I can't put my finger on the reason why that is. Anyone care to posit a theory or two? |

Because that was yours ( and at least five other people's idea) of a sure way to make their first billion here? |

That's a very good answer, Peppermint. In fact, I like it so much that I'm tempted to lie and say you are correct. But alas, the Guru was cursed with a debilitating honesty about these things, so no. I'm afraid that isn't it. |

Can say I tried the pizza there. Not very good. (But what do I know?) Seemed like a frozen pizza heated up. |

I have not tried it but I have heard from people that it is not good at all. The service also sucks. They seem to not be able to grasp the idea that when a pie is down to one or two slices that would be the time to make another one.
My family (the Italian side that we do not talk too much about) owns pizza restaurants in NYC. The key to pizza, which is quite obvious, is quality cheese and sauce. I believe that is next to impossible in Korea. |

sure Ill give it a go..
first of all.. people might say how hard is it to mess up a pizza!
well VERY HARD and most places in the world manage just that!
A pizza by the slice shop in a foreigner town, trying to attract majority of customers foreigners need to do more than sell below average or just plain average pizza.. this coming from the country where in burger king or mac donalds is normal to recieve COLD french fries and endure it!
but westerners DONT.. so you gonna open a fast food shop In Itaewon for foreigners it had BETTER be close to GREAT! becuase foreigners know about ethnic food.. we eat in MArios pizzeria, or KIMS kimbab, or MOHAMEDS kebabs shop or PATELS curry shop..
so if its not genuine we will stick our nose up to it..
why it tastes bad??
simple.. the person making the dough has no idea, that it needs to be treated like a woman! its the foundation of the product you get that wrong and its all over before it even began!
next!
preparing the dough.. now it needs to be kneeled and stored properly!
this is VERY important gentle gentle care like a woman touch and caressed and prepared for the waxing!
next.. ingredients! like CHIAA said..
I being Italian and coming from a restaurant business family..
the SAUCE! its all in the sauce! if you dont have a secret sauce full of taste, flavor and bite you got nothing but kethup on bread!
the cheese! I doubt they can get imported cheese here, enough said!
the ingredients! not to much of an issue.. but the PIZZIOLO making the pizza better have some skills.. any fool can cook! but only the few can be called chefs!
how many times have you had your latte messed up in starbucks? too many to count for me! trained baristas? please show me the way to heaven!!
PASSION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, these are some important ingredients missing from this shop I guess..
hows that for a theory?
P.s.. if you were in canada and you saw two korean restaurants next to each other.. MR KIMS traditional korean food..
or MR SMITHS traditonal korean food..
where would you go?
Koreans making pizza? dont expect miracles ok! but something to fill the gut on a night on the booze?.. sure why not! still id go for the kebab guy!

Can you get real, good quality cheese there? Maybe the back room is where the good pizza is... |

It's a tiny place... I didn't go in, but it looked like it might be mostly standing-room only.
Some stools at the counter, maybe. |
