Is RU-486 (the abortion pill) available in Korea?

not sure about that, but I know that the morning after pill is- with a doctor's perscription. As well, abortions are extremely common, though kept quiet- who knows.

True, true. Abortions are actually illegal in Korea but widely practiced. If you are native Korean, I think I heard that the father needs to sign permission for the abortion also(I guess in the past, there was retaliation on the male's part for not knowing)

However, I'm sure that if you're a foreigner, then that can be bypassed because they assume it's a one-night stand Rolling Eyes

Just heard these things, can't verify. Good luck

There is a morning pill in Korea sold at the local pharmacies, as peppermint said. It's called "Mini-bora"(pronounced "meenee-bora")

Well, for anyone else who may be wondering...

Korea does not have RU-486, but does offer D & C. I have been taking acne medication for some time, but didn't know that I became pregnant. The medication I was taking causes severe birth defects, therefore my doctor recommended terminating the pregnancy. I went to Asan Medical Center International Clinic. All of the staff there were very helpful and friendly. I am married (not to a Korean) so perhaps that eased the process. Anyway, the procedure was covered by my health insurance. I was really worried about how Korean medical staff would handle such an issue, but the people at Asan were very professional and understanding.

It is good you could find the treatment and place you needed. It seemed to work out for you. I hope you feel all right. I agree about Asan Medical Center International Clinic. The staff is usually professional and understanding.
