There I was happily browsing Dave's when I heard a bang and my computer moniter (LCD) started going darker and darker. Being ever vigilant and having two cups of Nabob in me, I quickly tapped the power bar switch.

The other FT in the building was not so lucky. He was tending to his chicken in his rice cooker. Why use a rice cooker? I don't know. Anyways his brand spanking new monitor went into flames and his computer is most likely shot. I think he may just need a new power supply but he thinks it's shot.

For the last couple of hours I have seen TVs, computers, microvaes and all sorts of stuff leave this building. the main elevator doesn't work, and one cable system has exploded (not mine though). There has been a lot of technicians roaming around too (engineers in Korea).

One has to wonder, haven't they ever heard of lightning rods here?

Oh, good, it's Kimchieluver. At first glance I thought it was Kimchicowboy, and since he is my nieghbor, I was really afraid I missed something. Embarassed

Seriously, I stupidly stayed on line throughout the storm. I was in the laundryroom with Kimchicowboy when Captain Porridge walked in and the lights went off at that very moment. We thought maybe the Capt. was practicing some of his dynamic cultbusting tricks- you know, bolts of lightning and earth shaking thunder. . .

That reminds me: where can I find a surge protector in Korea? I was looking around Yongan electronics market today and didn't see any.
