It's just a strange thing I realized long ago.
Saturday is easy for Saturn. 伺 and
Tuesday. mardi. Mars. ȭ and ȭ
It works for Wednesday and Friday.
 and ..... mercury, mecredi, wednesday
ݿ ..... ݼ .... Friday, vendredi, Venus..
What's the connection?
Mith?
or anyone else?
Damn I'm a geek. |

in french the system is pretty true to what the Romans (?) used:
lundi = moon day = monday
mardi = mars day = tuesday
mecredi = mercury day = wednesday
jeudi = ?jupiter? day = thursday
vendredi = venus day = friday
samedi = ?saturn? day = saturday
dimanche = day of ? = sunday
in English the system uses some Norse gods instead, such as
Wodin's (Odin's) Day = wednesday
Thor's Day = thursday
Friggen's Day = friday
however, Saturday is more clearly Saturn's Day and Sunday is clearly Sun Day in English. interesting. |

You're correct for weekdays, but the weekend days come from religion in French:
Shabbath -> sambati dies -> samedi
dies dominicus -> (several iterations) -> dimanche |
