Workplace grind hurts sex lives of employees
Stress from work is having a profound effect on marital sex life for employees at major companies, a recent survey by the Economist, a weekly magazine, suggests.
A poll of 323 men in their 30s and 40s who work for conglomerates showed that nearly 82 percent of them said they had unhappy sexual relations with their wives because of work-related stress. Of those, nearly 31 percent said work itself caused the stress, while 24 percent said relationships with senior colleagues were the cause. More than 19 percent said their sex lives were upset by too much work. The study also indicated that more than 56 percent of those polled had extra-marital sex in the previous 12 months, while 46 percent had wanted to.
Among the survey participants, almost 40 percent had visited adult Web sites on the Internet.

More than half of all Korean husbands cheat on their wives as least once a year? And another half want to? Is that what this survey is suggesting? How sad. |

No. 323 is not "all". More than half of 323 Korean husbands cheat on their wife at least once a year. And the other half want to. That's what this survey is saying.
And this is Real Reality posting. His posting habit is to find anything negative about Korea and post it.
But apart from that I would like to suggest the 323 Koreans are not really representative of 45 million. I would have thought your analytical skills would have suggested that to you.
Polls are nonsense. You can get any result you want by simply picking your samples. I would like to see the conditions this poll was conducted under. Speaking of which didn't exit polls have John Kerry winning the U.S presidential election? And we all know how THAT turned out. Don't put too much trust in polls Mr Guru. |

Another reason stats have no credibility (aside from not including the entirity of the population in question...good point UrbanMyth!) is that aside from money, sex is one of the things that people LIE about more than anything...even on anonymous surveys. I bet the number is higher for men who cheat on their wives and women who cheat on their husbands...love is considered a pretty impractical reason for getting married here except by a small portion of the younger generation...and since people don't even get to decide who they marry here, there's probably MILLIONS of people who would rather hump a stranger than their spouse. Something you COULD get reliable stats is divorce rates and the most common reasons for getting one (apparently its adultery).
THEY BLAME WORK STRESS ON THEIR INABILITY TO HONOR THEIR MARRIAGE VOWS (which probably took place in a Christian ceremony, given the number of flourescent red crosses dotting the skyline)????
Wow, Korean excuses are uniquely believable! Moreso every time I hear one. Who's going to be MY apologist? |
