I'll start off by saying I'm a computer dunce. But how exactly do you set one up to start communicating using one? My husband and I will be apart for a couple months and we need to see each other's faces when we chat online. |

Using microsoft messenger, all you need at both ends is a webcam and headphone/microphone headset, so you can talk and hear.
The headphone and mike cables (coloured) simply plug in to the appropriate colour socket on the computer. Normally these are at the side of a laptop or the back of a desktop.
The webcam connects via a USB socket (small rectangular plug) and usually sets itself up automatically as soon as you plug it in.

If you really want to make sure you know how it works before you separate, you could both go to a PC Bang with webcams and try it right there in the same place. Ask one of the people there for help, if needed. Familiarize yourself with it, and will cost the two of you about 3,000 won for all your trouble -- or less.
Then hook it up at home. |
