Anyone heard it?

It's taken me way longer to get into than any of the other albums but it's starting to pay off. Anyone know if NIN will be playing Seoul around the time they are touring Japan in the summer?

I've heard it, and it kicks butt. It's totally different from the other albums (although I find the vibe stangely reminiscent of Pretty Hate Machine). I was really looking forward to the Dave Grohl contribution but really this is, as always, Trent's record. It's a real grower, and I can't wait to buy it! As for a show in Seoul, absolutely no idea. As Manson said:"Rock is Dead." At least it is in Korea... Evil or Very Mad

This new album is so good. I can't stop listening to it.

I think there is no way they will come to Seoul. No one ever does, they all go to Japan and skip Korea. NIN will be in Japan on 8/13 and 8/14 for the Summer Sonic Festival. http://www.summersonic.com/index.html I think the 15th is a national holiday here in Korea. I am planning on flying to Japan to see them then.

NICE.

I just looked it up, and you can see them in either Tokyo (the 13) or Osaka (the 14), and the 15 is definitely a holiday.

I am so completely there. I'm thinkin' Osaka, just cuz I'm familiar with the place, it's cheaper/closer to fly to, and I know a couple people there. But it's definitely not to early to start making arrangements- August is not far away!

BTW, there are a bunch of other decent acts there too, but I still can't see Polysics...

(Oh, anyone know if the album's available in Seoul anywhere? Kyobo?)

It certainly would, but the problem is Tokyo is the Saturday, which would most likely mean missing the first half of the day because of plane arrival times Saturday morning and the long crappy train ride from Narita to Tokyo proper....

SO

I'm thinking Osaka (still a pretty cool city) on the Sunday... Especially with the Monday being a holiday...

Anyways, I really am starting to plan for this, so if anyone else is into it (Osaka OR Tokyo), let me know!

Is there a band that Dave Grohl doesn't play for?

Chillin' Villain, I'd be well up for this. I've got a ticket to see them in Manchester (UK) in July but seeing as I wont be in the UK it's not much good to me. I love Osaka too. I'll pm you as soon as I arrive in Seoul.

In the meantime check out this recent setlist! (no you know what you are but hey...)

Love Is Not Enough
March Of The Pigs
Reptile
Piggy
Terrible Lie
The Collector
With Teeth
Closer
Home
Burn
No You Don't
Even Deeper
The Line Begins To Blur
Suck
Wish
Hurt
The Hand That Feeds
Starfuckers
Head Like A Hole

Another opener on the tour has been The Frail into The Wretched.

i like the heavy and aggressive stuff so this definitely isn't my favorite. lots of midtempo songs, lots of groove, which can be good but not this much, for me anyway. it does remind me of pretty hate machine but not quite as good. i agree though that this album is a grower. i didn't like it much at all when i heard it for the first time but now some songs are growing on me, only, the hand that feeds, etc. loved the last song from the minute i heard it. some fillers here and there. overall a good album but definitely not my favorite.

Yes. Yes, it is. Made the trek today.

On my third listening right now (doing real computer work, this is my BGM), and I certainly like it. Nothing drastically different from what we heard on Fragile and Downward Spiral... DS is still my favorite because of the cohesion and mood of the whole album, but this is pretty good. Lots more of the background melody, mid-tempo-ish stuff. I'd say "Every Day is Exactly the Same" is my favorite of the whole album. (Haha... That was an edit... Took a couple more listens.)

Anyways, it's better than I was expecting to be, and I am certainly going to Japan for that show... I've been waiting on a chance since I was 15, and 13 years later I have finally found one!

Why can't anyone preview the songs on Amazon?

Will be in Osaka on Sunday for it~

It may be tough to get tix for the Tokyo day, cuz I read on the website they were sold out. There was an internet order service for them about a month ago, though... I'd reckon you still may be able to find tickets once you're there in person.

And how are you flying into Haneda? Did that Kimpo-Haneda route finally start up? (That would be teh greatness...)
