Anybody catch the fight? Fedor looked absolutly amazing. It took him a mere 36 seconds to ruin big Tim. They finally put him up against some proven competition and he demolished it. Couture getting in the ring after the fight was awesome, looks like we'll eventually get to see Fedor ruin him as well (altho it'll be kinda sad watching a senior citizen take such a beating...)

Was this even shown in Korea?

I can't see any way Couture can beat Fedor. Couture beat Sylvia via the scorecards, Fedor beat Sylvia in 36 seconds. I can see Randy having a good, smart tactical game plan; and then having it crushed by Fedor in the first round. The guy is too good right now.

Yeah, it was shown here. SBS soprts, I think. They showed it live and replayed it twice at least. Fedor is quite simply a great athlete. Very quick for such a big, strong guy. I don't see him losing to anyone for a while.

I love Fedor. Before the fight he was just sitting in his dressing room playing cards. On the way to the ring was pretty much expressionless.

I agree, but Randy wants the fight and Fedor wants the fight. They'll get what they want when the money appears.

Another guy that can't be stopped? Silva. Just finished watching UFC FIght Night. Jesus, Silva goes UP a weight class because there's no one to challenge him where he is, and he still destroys the guy in front of him (in this case a guy who came DOWN a weight class to fight him).

As much as I like Griffin, if Silva faced him right now, Silva would be walking away with both belts.

I'm not an authority on MMA by any means, but - when he stood next to Fedor after the fight - Couture looked to be very impressed (maybe even realizing that his chances to beat him would be slim.)

Aside from the fact that the Ukrainian is 13 years younger, around 10 pounds heavier, faster, and more skillful, on paper their records aren't even close.

Emelianenko's MMA record is 28 wins and only one loss - which was a controversial technical stoppage after an illegal elbo strike opened a cut above his eye.

By contrast, Couture has been either knocked-out or submitted a total of 8 times in his 24 MMA fights.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Couture

I'm pretty sure that he'd be much more of a test than the too-slow Sylvia, though (who made Choi Hong-man's performance look very good by comparison.)

I think it would take some combination of excellent speed and overwhelming strength to have a really good chance of beating Fedor.

You can probably see re-runs (in English) of all the matches of both cards on the MMA channel on TVU (or Sopcast)

randy has always been one of my favorite fighters...real classy guy. i hated seeing him lose the rubber match to iceman. but going against fedor...a motivated fedor. man, hope he doesnt come back. let nog or someone else try to take fedor...hell maybe crocop again.

Barnett deserves the next crack at Fedor, but he isn't popular enough with American fans. Arlovski would be the next choice since he's very popular and has had a few big wins recently. They could put Barnett vs. Buentello on the undercard to build up Barnett's name and then give him the next shot after Fedor kills Arlovski. I would also enjoy Sobral vs. Tito or Ricardo Arona.

I was really surprised by this because I was judging fedor ability next to Mirco since crocop lasted 3 rounds with him. Then when crocop entered the ufc he bombed.

So for Fedor to destroy like that....WOW. And Fedor doesn't even look that tough. Compared to Brock Lesnar or one of the big heavyweights, he looks tame.

NEVER write off Couture!! He's been written off so many times in his career yet pulled through. If we ever see this fight, Couture by TKO.

You're forgetting how close Couture came to beating Sylvia in about 20 seconds...

Yeah, I just can't see Couture beating Fedor. I do hope we get to see that fight one day.

Couture is overrated. Probably the most overrated fighter in MMA, IMO.

He came out of retirement and beat an injured Tim Sylvia. Then he beat the "Buster Douglas" of MMA in Gabe Gonzaga. He's 45 years old. His professional record is 16-8, hardly spectacular. In his last 7 fights, he's 4-3. I don't see how people think he is even in the same league as Fedor.
