|
|
I've been searching through the boards for a god method of rewarding the harder working students I teach. I came across a real gem of an idea where the kids were rewarded with fake money, which they could then use to "buy" certain rewards. Another option is to hold an auction once a month.
So I'm looking for some ideas for rewards, so far I've come up with
Candy
Foreign candy
CDs (music, burnt from kazaa and similar)
CDs (games of various sorts)
Pens
Pencils
Stickers
Paper
Stamps (the rubber kind)
Makeup? (14yo girls here)
Any further ideas?

We do this at the school i am at...
We gave them "play money" and then once every 6 motnhs we have a market day and they come and buy what they want....
You have to be a bit careful about giving to much money at times but it is a brilliant a system as taking away any money has the desired effect...the become little nagels and get the message quickly..
I know what some people will say that it encourages bad habits but lifes reality is money makes the world go round and also makes my job a lot easier |

Basically we sell food and snacks(last time it was ddokbukki, chips, soft drink, chicken bits, plsu other unhealthy stuff) and we run it like a supermarket...the kids love it..
Also we have a few bigger things for sales like toys and game CDs, movie tickets and lotteria vouchers. |

| We use a chart with all the student's names on it, posted in the classroom. When a student does well, he/she gets a sticker, and at the end of the month the stickers can be reimbursed for things at a flea market (4 stickers for a bag of cookies, etc.). Having the chart in the classroom allows the students to see who has how many stickers. Works wonders. |

| Doubt they're allowed to wear makeup much, but flavoured lip glosses and things should go over well. Movie vouchers, manga comics, and fashion magazines ( cosmo girl! or something) would probably be very popular. |

I like this idea a lot. Can someone give me an idea of prices? Like, if a student is good every single day, how long would it take them to reach different rewards?
With the sticker idea, which I also like, do you put the sticker on the chart every day? If so, do you just remove all of them at the end of the month?
Good thread. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers,

Prices are made up as they go...
Typically I would give a student 10 dollars for completed homework, 100% on a spelling test or 20 dollars for some top work..
Prices are yet to be set...i think my wonjang is getting worried
Maybe 100 dollars for food...
I know the movie tickets and the like are going for at least 1000 dollars |
