Heckler, 82, who dared called Straw a liar is held under terrorist law

What a bloody farce: heckling politicians has always been an acceptable blood sport for urbanites in England - what has gone so wrong that an 82 year old activist can be forcibly ejected from the room when he dares to disagree with the Home Secretary?

Answer: maybe the Home Secretary secretly agrees .....

Well, it was their conference - slightly different to heckling at a public meeeting. Utter overreaction though, and I don't get what the point of using the Terrorism Act was - they're allowed to just say 'no' to anyone they want (including one of their own MPs...)

At least the Tories won't need anyone from outside to do the heckling this time round Very Happy

"has it come to this"?

-I thought you meant the latest study revealing the Arctic ice cap has shrunk by 20% since 1979, and is accelerating.

And Straw said he too was sorry at the way Wolfgang had been forcibly ejected, adding that he had no complaints about the heckling.

"I was quite enjoying the heckling," he told the BBC. "It was making the speech livelier and I was about to deal with it when I saw him being dragged out."

Hang on a second: so you're the foreign minister, you're up on stage and in front of a mic, when you see the heckler you were 'enjoying' being dragged away, and yet you don't say anything?
How about
"Boys let him go, I'm about to respond to him?"

Christ man, just apologize without embellishing it and making yourself look like a jackass.

Hate to tell you, but the truth is so long as "we the people" struggle to assert our rights it's gonna get worse before it improves.

Given the current global political climate & disturbing nature of the elitist agenda, assuming everday citizens continue to take a stand, these sort of shameful antics are only bound to increase.
