Can you believe that?

Don't know what inspired me.. but was in Honolulu.. realized I DID have the room to put one in my luggage and lug it back to Korea with me.. and on an impulse.. I bought one.

Total price: $34.

Awesome! George Harrison was a big fan of the uke, especially in his later years.

Hmm.. just researched the notes to keep this thing in tune.

One problem though.. the thing goes out of tune so fast its head-spinning. By the time I've tuned the bottom string, the top 3 are already out tune.

Well, I guess thats why it was $34.. I thought I got the quality one as the other two cheaper ukelele versions were at $10 and $20!!

I knew it wouldn't be ideal.. but didn't realize for that price the thing was virtually un-tuneable.. too bad.. that Beatles website with the ukulele was amazing too!

It might just take a while to "bed in". I don't know much about ukes, but the cheapo Korean electric guitar I picked up was a total bar steward for a couple of weeks, kept tune about as well as an early retiree from American Idol. But now all is well, and happy days are here again.

Try stretching the strings a bit, and leave it slightly over-tightened for a few days, but keep playing it. Hopefully after a while it will improve. Good luck!

If you need some inspiration, you can aspire to be as good as this guy.

Man, I never imagined someone could go to town on a uke like that guy. Wow!

It stays in tune..

plus i was able to find tons of songs for the ukulele on this website:

http://www.alligatorboogaloo.com

Not to mention, www.chordie.com which transcribes guitar and ukulele chords..

http://www.alligatorboogaloo.com if the better of the two.. as designed specifically for ukulele.

Great fun so far.. and the thing is so easy to carry around.

i owned a bass uke (that ended up just sitting on a shelf somewhere)...difficult to get inspired to play that thing; bought for 35$ in alberta.
my two other ukes: 1) was given and then stepped on peyote (jerk never got me back...)
2) given to me and i know why. thing NEVER stays in tune.

and let me tell YOU:
www.tabledit

is the kick ass program i use with my banjo, it tabs AND plays back files for me (great for learning the stuff), though only tabledit specific files work it's still pretty sweet.
I'm pretty sure it does some uke things too!
