Hypothetical situation.
You live and teach in Korea. You go to your local GP or whatever for a check-up. He/She sends you to a specialist and he/she tells you that you have 24 hours to live.
What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?!? |

I'd murder the doctor and shoot the messenger. Then I'd probably just go to the pub and hang out, play pool, write my will and buy everyone drinks. I might even rob a bank for kicks with one of those almost real looking bb guns you can get in Itaewon. Korea would be a shoddy place to spend your last 24 hours, I probably couldn't even get back home to see my friends and family so I'd have to spend the time with my GF (whom I love dearly) but it would be a very depressing 24 hours, I dont think I'd tell her till I only had an hour or so left.
I'd just stay out and write letters to people until I died, thanking them for being special people in my life. I might take a little hike up a mountain and die up there. |

I don't know the source but I heard that there was a study where, when doctors told people they had a certain number of weeks or months left to live, something like 50% of the people died on the exact day predicted. The point was the mind's effect on health... many just held out until that day to give up hope. The moral... never tell somebody how long they have to live, doc! |

I'll eat kimchi, pray, and prepare for the next day at work, like I always do. |

This actually kinda happened to me in Korea, but I had longer than 24 hours.
I quit my job and flew back to Canada with the tests. In Canada they looked at the tests and said "where did you get these? they're kinda blurry." They redid my tests and found nothing wrong.
I went back to Korea and was back teaching in time for the next semester. |

One poster mentioned writing your will. As a bit of an aside, I have just finished doing that, and while I was updating everything I found out that property I have in Korea is not covered by my NZ will. So I needed to make another one in Korea to cover it as the laws are different. Since I only have money here and basically nothing else, I just sent the money home and saved some confusion But definitely worth bearing in mind if you have any significant assets over here. |

I have an Armani shirt. I'm at my wit's end just thinking about it, and my imminent death.
Help! |
