Guys here think it's their playground in Korea so that they feel offended with anyone who has a semblance of morality and beliefs in God, particularly if they be a Christian. It goes with the genre here in Korea, and the mindset of most expats. They're there to follow the unmoral universe that Asians in general offer Western wayfarers, be it Japan, the PI, Thailand and Korea. The expats like this, because it cuts them loose from their moral responsibility, and morality, if they have any, back in the West.
Come on, look at the prostitution here, the booze, the easy money, the simple-mindedness of the women who must be this way because they're oppressed. Look at the raucous lifestyles, the romping and stomping grounds, love motels and brew factory like street-filled bars. Then listen to this forum, and the others, reveling in all this, and tell me another voice isn't out there that that should paint another, and better, picture, in order to tilt the balances of. . .?
Christianity and some kind of perverse lifestyle portrayed and propounded as the norm while living abroad and in Korea all together.
It's what will really gall you, newbie, these misconceptions travellers abroad in Asia are apt to display for us Westerners, and for Asians alike.
I have three words to describe you and I quote:

Please don't respond to him. The sooner people start ignoring him the soon he has to find a new board to troll. (By the way, I am responding to Swiss James ) |

I don't use prostitutes. There is nothing immoral about drinking alcohol. There is nothing immoral about having sex, with an asian women or any other kind as long as they are willing. There is nothing immoral about having an easy job, although if you're putting the proper amount of effort into the job it should be that easy. There is nothing immoral or perverse about my lifestyle.
I find that the most perverse people I meet in Korea are fundamentalist christian freaks on the borderline of sanity. These people are dangerous, some of them are potential David Koresh's of the future. They have dark twisted souls and hate life, light, love, joy, and freedom. Yes indeed, the sickest people I've ever met have been fundamentalist christians... |

You could make a good argument for prostitutes regardless. People who choose to use their body to make money, as long as they choose to do so, I have no objections. Not really that different from a massage and when seen in the context of Korean openess about their bodies in steam rooms, etc, not that far of a stretch at all. |

You don't have to be Christian to be moral.
And you sure as hell don't have to be non-Christian to be immoral.
And given the wealth of philosophy and moral reasoning that Asian civilizations have contributed to the world, I'll take that Asian lifestyle any day. |

Speaking of diaries, no offence to the OP, but the initial post really reminds me of the journal of Rorschach, from Alan Moore's Watchmen. |

The day before Yesterday.
You need to be taking bets on when the Korean police will capture him, and whether it will be alive or dead.
[and in case you were wondering, no. My new avatar is a complete coincidence- I changed it before reading your post. Seriously. What a strange world, eh?] |

Don't want to feed the Troll, so I'm ignoring the OP entirely. I do think that the strip bars in America (Florida with their bottomless bars) are much better there. And north of the boarder into Canada? Come on! Their Supreme Court recently ruled for pretty much allowing public display of beavers in such bars is ok. I think I remember that some contact was ok too, pretty much allowing prostitution. I may be wrong on the specifics so if anyone has a news article reference, I stand corrected.
You probably have a better chance to get some titillation and touching in most places in Korea, and a very few places actually going to full contact penetration (red-light districts like "hooker hill," "588," "Miari-dong" among some of the more notorious places). It's more the ubiquitousness of the trade in Korea in every place from some "singing rooms" to "sexy bars" to the "Kiesang Yo-jung houses" to the "room solons" at the high and very expensive end But, I think American road houses are easy enough to find too because they are just so big in their way of making their presence known. Except for the red-light districts, the women in Korea are there because of their choice. So why does that make it worse here than there. No one country has the corner on prostitution. |
