Hello,
Now that we need two days to process our visas where are people staying and what is the cost? Details please. I don't want to hang out at a bar until daylight. I want a decent sleep in a safe environment. Of course the place needs to be economical.
Thanks ahead of time,

This reminds me. Did anyone see that ESL teacher's two part visa run article in Herald (or was it Times?). It was the most wholly useless, boring two part article I've ever read. The first installment he wrote at length about flirting with two "girls" at the train station. (Turns out they weren't girls but women. I'm glad the author labels adult employed women "girls".) He then brilliantly segued into watching Japanese guy having gay sex in a Japanese sauna... |

I would suggest the Sun Life Hotel in Osaka as it's cheap but it is a bit of a walk from the embassy. Here is the site so that you can check it out.

It's about 47,000 won per night and if you throw in a taxi each way then it's still a lot cheaper than the hotels near the embassy. Anyway there are loads of hotels on that site. Good luck! |

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a "decent" place to sleep, but I found a capsule hotel for about W29,000. I'd say it's about on par with sleeping in a Korean bathhouse/sauna, but instead of sleeping on the floor with dozens of strangers you're sleeping in a little coffin surrounded by dozens of strangers.
Damned if I can tell you where to find the one I found, but I think they're pretty easy to come by. |
