A recent BBC documentary has exposed the fundamentalist leanings of the supposedly 'moderate' Muslim Council of Britain (MCB). The journalist John Ware asked the MCB representative's regarding their views on certain fundamentalist ideologues, suicide bombings etc. He rarely got a straight answer to his questions, and now that the programme has been aired the MCB has still refused to refute any of the accusations made. Instead, it has, all too predictably, blamed the Jews!
Here's some snippets:
In an interview with Mr Ware, Sir Iqbal refused to disown a group known as Al-e-Hadith, which says the ways of Christians and Jews "are based on sick or deviant views" and that "imitating the Kuffar [non-Muslims] leads to a permanent abode in hellfire".
London mayor Ken Livingstone earlier this week accused the BBC and other media organisations of conducting a "witch-hunt" against the MCB, which he described as the "mainstream representative body of British Muslims".
If that is the case Ken, then we have a serious problem! |

This is an organiztion that represents 400 groups. If you were to look at a similar Christian group, you would likely find allied organizations that think all non-Christians are going to hell, or that gays and lesbians are "sick and deviant".
"When I was a little girl, we thought protestants weren't going to heaven". That's a direct quote from my Catholic mother. |

Perhaps. Although, I doubt you would find many that justified holy war against infidels, called Jews 'apes and pigs' and sanctioned suicide bombings against civilians, like some affiliates of the MCB. |

It must be quite pleasing to many to see the lefty lesbian muesli-eating BBC doing this work to expose such radicals. |

Lunatics are involved in all sorts of stuff and not all crazy mofos are Muslim. Does anyone think this guy http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/article307641.ece was a Muslim?
The BBC is generally pretty fair and balanced in its coverage of world events. 'Fair and balanced' to some Fox fans really means 'rapid frothing right wing' to most sane folks. |

Yes, it was rather surprising, and a welcome change from the kids gloves treatment that Islamic organisations have been given. Although I see that some on this thread are still using the isolated incidents of abortion extremists to argue their case that 'all religions have extremists', when it is plainly obvious that one religion has far more than any other, and that a scratch beneath the surface of most 'moderate' muslim organisations will reveal such intolerance. |

The MCB has made a formal complaint to the BBC accusing it of "blatant pro-Israeli bias" and "undermining community relations in the UK". |
BOOO!!!
I HATE when muslims go trumpetinng around this "pro-israeli" crap.
and this guy:
Quote: |
In a separate interview, a senior spokesman for one of the MCB's main affiliates, the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB), appeared to condone the glorification of suicide bombers.
Asked if describing martyrdom in Israel as "divine bliss" meant he was an "apologist for terrorism", Dr Azzam Tamini replied: "If you want to consider me so that's up to you." |
and THAt guy has to learn he's in politics and the phrase "that's up to you" is akin to reaching into the deep fryer to get out an errant french fry.
That is, a really, really bad idea. |
