Although my survey is limited to 2.5 Korean women (all over the age of 25 and not of a younger generation and that might be significant), I'd wager Korean women don't wear thongs. It might have something to do with the fact they all go to the sauna and parading around the locker room in a thong would paint one as a ho. That and they live at home until married and they might not want to explain to mom why there is thong undies in the wash. And when they get married their husbands immediately stop being interested in them for sex so there's no reason to dress sexy.
The best advice in general for women coming here is stock up on all forms of favorite undies, from bras to panties. |

Supposedly Victoria's Secret opened a store in Seoul last year. And maybe near military bases you could find what you want. Otherwise MMT's advice is spot on. |

they do sell thong underwear in Korea but the size range is really narrow and they are more decorative than functional (the one's i've seen and purchased) so prolly better to buy your comfy thongs at home before you go |

They sell thongs (or Ƽ Ƽ) at many places in Seoul, but yea, if you are a normal sized western women (or man), I recommend stocking up. How much space do they take up in your suitcase anyway? |

If true, then what do you make of Victoria's Secret opening a store in Korea?
A. Dumb idea (shows they're clueless about this market)
B. Wishful thinking (they think the under-25s won't mind looking like hos)
C. Niche marketing (they're really just aiming at the "sex-worker"/bona fide ho/Western women demographic)

My advice is worry about finding a boy(girl)friend first. Then worry about what to wear. |

There's such a thing as functional thongs? I always thought the purpose was supposed to be decorative. What is the function? Eliminating panty outlines from the seat of your pants/dress? |

yup and many women find thongs a lot more comfortable to wear than regular panties
with a lot of close fitting garments, thongs are the only way to go to avoid the double butt, it helps keep a clean line |

There are other ways to do this that don't involve walking around with a wedgy all day. |

limited is not the word... be careful on giving advice when you have no idea on the issue... most women I know only wear thongs, and they're not all in their 20's.
simple, order online at VS and get them to mail them |

I agree. I own many thongs but I don't really like wearing them - I feel like I have a wedgy all the time. I'd rather not wear any if I have to wear a tight skirt or dress. |
