(I have also posted this on the general discussion board.)

The victims of hurricane Katrina need the world's help.

If you are so inclined and you have the means to donate, here is a list of charities collecting for the victims. You might want to take a collection from your friends or colleagues, or at the club tonight.

(Habitat for Humanity is an organization that builds homes for the poor throughout the world. I have always been comfortable donating to them and trusting where my money goes.)

Good on you for posting this info. Looks like quite a few people are visiting your post. I hope that translates into some extra donations that these organisations wouldn't otherwise have received if you hadnt posted their details.
