So I went into a travel agent yesterday, and requested some information about a flight. 'No problem' he says, 'come in tomorrow after you finish work and I'll give you the options.'
I tell him that I work into the evening and that I will try my hardest to make it in, but if not, I will come on Friday at lunch time. The flight is not for a while so there is lots of time. He says it's not a problem.
Calls me this morning and says that he's possibly got something for me, to come in either today or tomorrow, or even wait until Saturday if I am too busy, which is what we agreed. Guess he just called to remind me.
Well, I've just come out of my last class, I've been in the classroom for a few hours straight, not going into my bag to look at my phone. When I finally did, the guy has called me TWENTY THREE TIMES in the past 40 minutes.
WTF? It's not the first time I've experienced it, but I still can't get over the .... stalking? Harassing? Whatever you want to call it, I don't know.
It's enough to make me tell him to shove his flight up his arse and I'll get it elsewhere..
Cell phones were supposed to give people more freedom...and then I move to Korea, where you are expected to be tied to your phone 24-7 and there is no amount of "I'm unavailable" that is acceptable to warrant not answering your phone.
So what do YOU do - do you answer EVERY call you get, no matter how busy you are, or what you are doing? Or do you get the "You have missed 23 phone calls" on your phone while you are in class? |

The guy's probably just eager to make a sale...or, he's a complete psycho. Maybe he thinks he's being extra helpful and diligent? Maybe he thought you gave him the wrong number? Honestly, I don't give my number to many people. That's the way I like it. I get their card and tell them I'll call them. When it comes to travel agents, I only do business on a face-to-face basis even though I always ask them for a card. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy decided to call you at 3am when he's drunk. Oh well. |

You ever have some door to door sales person knock on your door and you don't answer although the TV is on and it's sort of obvious someone is home? They'll knock, pound, ring the door bell, try to pry open your little cat door... |

The gas people came here at midnight one Wednesday night, and pounded on the door and shouted for a good ten or fifteen minutes straight until I finally opened it. Midnight. They didn't get the warmest of receptions... |
