Grab your private areas? I don't mean the typical ħ poop needle, I mean real crotch and ass grabbing.
I have a few young students, mostly boys, who force me to go into the teachers room and lock the door because I can't swing my pointer stick fast enough to keep their hands away from my unmentionables.
I yell at them and tell them to quit, but that just eggs them on... I can't just ignore it, because I have one student in particular who tries to kiss me wherever there is bare skin (arms, ankles, hands, etc.) and I would feel like a perv if I just ignored it.
What to do? Any advice? |

Yell, "Pyeontae!!!!"
I had a male student of about 11 years like that (I am a guy). He never grabbed at my crotch or anything, but he was always trying to rub the hair on my arms, feigning trying to kiss me, saying "I love you"... silly stuff like that.
These days, when he still tries it ocassionally, before he gets within a foot I spot him and he declares, "I am not pyeontae! I am not gay!" then continues with, "I love you," and feigns trying to kiss me... at which point I clip him under the ear. It's all a big joke to get some attention/be a clown.
The ddong chim/crotch grabbing thing is probably different though - it's an attempt to undermind you. I put a stop to that by getting my co-teacher to tag team them with me. One of us grabs the kid while the other ddong chims him... really hard. And not just in retaliation. There's a couple of kids we do it to every other time we see them no matter how they behave. Seeing this happen to the main offenders seems to be keeping the other kids' mischievous thoughts in line. |

I'm a guy, but it's not like that makes any difference. Would it be OK if the little boys were grabbing the crotch of a woman? |

If you're yelling at them and they still do it, you're not loud enough or not using the right tone of voice - think Marine Corp drill seargent. They would never do that to me twice! |

I think the problem isn't how fast you swing your pointer stick, but how hard you swing it. Whack them in the nads a few times and they'll learn the lesson. |

I wouldn't be too upset by it...
in Korea its a very common thing and I would almost say a Korean Custom....
(When in Rome do as the Romans do)......
The grandparents, parents and uncles/Aunts do it to their grandsons, nephews and sons.....
(rarely happens to girls)
it is kinda of ..... "goshigi!" whilst grabbing the sons/grandsons/nephews genitals in order to teach the boy to be PROUD of being a boy - (sense of pride)...
(As koreans really do love their boys (a bit too much)) rather than girls..
The kids soon learn that its fun and do it to their friends and foreign teachers.... (I have never seen a kid do it to a Korean teacher)...
whenever a kid does either the "dong-shi" or "gosh-i-gi" to me I simply threaten to do it back to the kid.... after that the kid doesn't come within a 2-metre radius of me....
....problem solved.....
(Korean grandparents/parents are the byun-tae people as they seem to enjoy teaching their sons to do it) |

I knew this thread was going down a dangerous road.
Amazing how much difference a question mark could make. |
