none of the above!
should be a korean! that way they can take all the glory when when the win! and they can blame themselves only win they lose!
if you ask me! a worldcup team especially in the worldcup game!
teams should only be allowed to be coached by natives of that country
I mean you cant use foreign players ! so you shouldnt be allowed to use foreign coaches!! |

Glad you hit back 'high' and not low. It was a friendly stab at your expression. Like many, I wonder, and then I gaze in wonder.
Ideally, yes, a home grown coach to bring the side total national victory (or shame, whatever - it's owned by them). However, Koreans can't seem to control that many foreign games, which is why they seek outside coaches in many many fields of business and play. Ever wondered why there are so many foreign English teachers in SK?
Of the above, I voted Rudi Voeller - second best German. Coz ve've gotten se Hiddink. Ya.
(PS _ when you're strange, faces come out of the rain.) |

I think they should get someone with an established reputation like Terry Venables or Glen Hoddle. If they go back to the old Korean way of picking players based on where they graduated from and suchlike it would be a disaster.
They still have a good team. Its a shame expectations for them here are too high to be achievable. |

I gotta agree with the Koreran suggestion as well...
With such a short time now until the WC they should really go with someone familiar with the Korean system and can communicate well with players and the media |

I think a Korean coach is out of the question. Cha Bum-keun was (is) a total @#$#@!!! during the 1998 World Cup and then after Korea got KILLED by the Netherlands, 5-0, he said, "I promise a better result next time." Hahaha, as if the KFA would be that stupid to give him another chance.
Hiddink had more time with the players and the presence to weather off bad games in which Korea got totally obliterated. One report said the job is like a poisoned chalice that only Hiddink has not suffered from.
That said, Ian Porterfield and Pim Verbeek are intriguing candidates given their time in Korea coupled with their overseas soccer expertise. |

Porterfield's Chelsea side of the early 90s was one of the dullest, most underachieving sides I've seen. I don't really follow the K-League so I don't know what he's done since then but I'd avoid on that basis.
It's got to be Verbeek really with the world cup only next year it would be to their advantage to get a guy who alway has knowledge of the players and experience of dealing with the KFA.
I think the infrastructure of high quality Korean soccer is probably a little too young to see quality home grown coaches coming through yet (remember 2002 was their first win in the finals). I'd imagine things like national service and a brutal university enterance exam could be obstacles to young players (and ultimatly future coaches) achieving their potential.
Still they have done well to qualify for so many finals and good luck to them in Germany. |

| Yeah, I say give Verbeek a chance given his knowledge of the Korean team and Guus Hiddink's coaching style. Recent reports say Cha and Porterfield have not gotten offers to take over, and I highly doubt the KFA will anger the public further by getting an inferior grade of coach. |

| I doubt they will be able to attract a top coach when there's less than a year left before when the next World Cup. It's just not possible to whip them into shape in time---and you know what happens to the Korean team coaches when its face-saving time. Any hagwon teacher can tell you it sucks being dumped in the eleventh month of a contract, so imagine how guys with real careers at stake feel about the prospect of looking for a new job shortly after being hired. |

| According to one press report, Bobby Robson, ex-England coach, wants to take over the Korean team. |
