|
|
Here's a tech tip for computer users:
IPS is one of the preferred technologies used in making LCD Computer Monitors today, and the majority of these raw panels are made here in South Korea. These panels end up in countless other brand names of monitors, including many of the most well-known names. If you have deep pockets, you can buy the brand names. If not, you can find exceptional value from lesser-known companies' implementation of the same LCD Display technology. The aesthetics of the case and the add-on features (like USB hubs, input options HDMI/Display Port/DVI/VGA, built-in audio, etc.) also add to the cost, which many of us don't need built in to our monitor.
Try searching on gmarket for 27 IPS, and there are some excellent 27" monitors starting at under 350,000 KRW. These units have the same display inside as the shiny aluminum monitors and all-in-one computers costing many times more.
I'm not trying to endorse any specific product, or discredit any products in this post: just sharing a tip on good value available to us since we are living in the country of origin of the panel, helping to make this a good value.

Wow! The prices really go up when there is an HDMI or even a VGA (d-sub) port added! I need to hook up my xbox 360 as well as my PC.
Any way to have a PC and 360 hooked up to one DVI port? |

and i believe it's not an IPS panel which is the main point of the OP's post. IPS technology spanks the other affordable LCD techs. |
