How much should I expect to pay for a new 50cc scooter?

Qin, a 50cc may be just right for you and your needs, I dunno. But I'd say for the vast majority of us average-sized big-noses, it's too small and lacks oomph. Just be aware that on a 50cc, you'll never be able to speed out of the path of a charging bus, make it up hills at normal speed, ride two-up in comfort & safety, or avoid the dreaded "circus clown on a tricycle" look. Maybe there's a thread where you weighed all the pros & cons of a 50cc vs. a 100cc, but if not, start one. Wink

For real?! I am absolutely clueless when it comes to scooters. All I know is that I'm tired of walking, my bike got stolen, and even when I had a bike it wasn't as good as a motor would be. So you're saying that a 50cc can't seat two people comfortably, and will have problems with hills? I've read that a special license and registration are required for higher powered scooters. Are these things difficult to obtain?

Thanks,
Q~

i've been doubling people on mine (100cc) lately and it's a little wobbly and i think it threw my (4 year old) scooter's clutch out. i'm not totally comfortable with it.
