Hey guys, I'm totally sick today. Fever, grogginess, chills. I don't know what the problem is. I hate going to the doctor so usually I would just wait for it to pass, but anyway it's getting worse so I guess I should try to find a doctor to see. Any idea how to find one in Anyang? PS: No health insurance.

There are usually clincs right next door (or damn close) to any pharmacy you come across. Shouldn't be too hard and not too expensive.

Good luck.

go to hospital pal...

people go to hospital here for a headache..

if it happens that you need a blood test or anything else, you will be told to go to hospital anyways

There is a really good hospital right near you in Pyong-cheon. (it's just on the south side of all the hot-spots and kind of close to the park)

As well, I'm pretty sure I know where you teach and I KNOW there are a lot of clinics in and around there. My favorite was down by the pedestrian overpass, there's a ear nose throat guy that was good.

Ask at your school and they should be able to help you out.

Had to go to the doc the other week. Total charge? 11,000 won. Not bad.

I got my boss to take me to the doctor. It turns out I have tonsilitis, as I suspected. I've had it twice before. The doctor visit (no insurance) and the prescription for antibiotics came to a total of about 16,000 won. Not too shabby.

Basically, the boss didn't bother signing me up when I started. We're supposed to split the cost, 50/50. So after about 3 months I asked if I should be receiving an insurance card of some kind, and she revealed that she had thought I wanted to save money so she didn't order insurance. Now if I want insurance I have to pay 50% the back payments for five months in which I never received insurance, but I insisted that the hagwon pay the back payments, because I wasn't actually insured during that time and I don't think I should have to pay. She refused, and I didn't want to pay, so I am still without insurance.

I pay for my own insurance here. It costs me 24,000/month.
You don't need your boss to hold your hand to get it. You had
better get it. If you get seriously ill you will NOT get proper
medical attention without insurance.

correct me if i'm wrong, it has been a while since i have had to deal with insurance disputes, but, i think it's the law that you must be insured....

it is 50/50 so you must back pay your 50% which should total about 100,000... something rings bells here, if she hasn't got you insurance, maybe she isn't paying your taxes (just pocketing them)...

i just woke up and i'm wasted from last night, i don't remember the ins and outs of all this stuff anymore but this is something you should check into...

maybe start a thread on it, something reminds me that she might be able to pull the money from your bonus..

i could be blowing smoke here, but i really do suggest you look into it further..

good luck

p.s. you will get proper medical attention without it, you'll just pay more for it
